About UsThe Band Program at Port Saint Lucie High School has a rich history of success since the schools opening in 1989.. The students of the Port Saint Lucie High School Band Program make up the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Color Guard, and The Marching Jaguars, which features the entire program. The bands at PSL High School have received ratings of Superior and Excellent at nearly all Marching and Concert Band Music Performance Assessments since the schools opening.

Symphonic BandThe Symphonic Band is a Performing Ensemble that features all students, 9-12. This group will be performing at concert Music Performance Assessment.

Concert BandThe Concert Band is a band that features all new members of the Port Saint Lucie High School Band. It is a required class for all beginning members of the band. This class focuses on the performance fundamentals of playing instruments, as well as exposes Freshman members to grade 2 and 3 level wind band literature.

Wind EnsembleThe Wind Ensemble is made up of band students grades 10-12. This ensemble focuses on performance fundamentals of playing instruments, as well as performs higher level grade 3 and 4 wind band literature.

Jazz BandThis ensemble teaches the skills necessary for students to be competent in the Jazz idiom. It features the traditional jazz band instruments, such as trumpets, trombones, saxophones, guitar, bass, drums, and percussion, but is not limited to those instruments. Students will learn and understand many different styles of jazz, such as swing, funk, rock, latin, blues, and ballad. Students will also learn about jazz history and interpretation.
