Good morning band family! Happy spooky season, and more importantly, BANDtober! We are in the absolute final stretch of our marching season, as we have our major performances coming up!
Congratulations again on our make shift showcase yesterday. I believe we did our best of turning what could have been a negative day for our band into a positive one, and we got better! Hope you enjoyed yourself and didn’t crash too hard from all the sugar! Now here’s what to expect for the week. - Reminder that Tuesdays practice will end at 4:15pm. This is to allow time for the students who are are participating in the National Night Out festival at the PSL police department on psl blvd and airoso, to get to the station by 5pm. - For the National night out, all leadership and drum line are required to attend. Students will wear their red band polos. The invitation is open to the full band as well. We will be playing some stand tunes for the officers. Once we are done around 6pm, students can stay and hang out and visit the fun things they have, including food trucks. Students are to be picked up at the station when we are done, or car pool home. This will be an awesome opportunity to support our community and the men and women who keep our city’s safe! - Thursday we will have rehearsal from 2:30-5:00pm. This practice will end 30 minutes earlier than usual. - Friday is our Mini Camp continuity rehearsal, and this is scheduled from 2:30pm - 9:00pm. This is our last long rehearsal of the season, and, in my opinion, will take our show to incredible heights. Students will wear a red shirt to this rehearsal. There will be a dinner break, and opportunities for games and other things during this time. Please keep in mind, all continuity rehearsals were scheduled in April of 2023. - This weekend you have off!!! But next week is homecoming/crown jewel week. So please be constantly looking ahead.
