Hopefully everyone had a nice and relaxing Labor Day Weekend!
-Now that marching season is officially over, we are in the full swing of Concert Season! The first pass off for this quarter will be consisting of scales. This pass off is due by Friday, , November 18th. Your pass off can be played in person, or you can email a video recording of you playing to Mr. Wiley at [email protected]. For Freshman: F, Bb, and Eb For Upperclassmen: F, Bb, Eb, and Ab -This Monday (11/14), we will be having a "Gift Wrap Booth" parent meeting in the band room from 6:00-7:00pm. If every student encourages one parent/guardian/adult associated with them to attend the meeting, we could have a great representation of parents to help/volunteer for the booth! -Pit rehearsal for Tuesday, November 15th has been cancelled. -There will be an "Instrument Step Up Showcase" at Treasure Coast High School on Tuesday, November 15th, from 6:00-8:00pm. At this event, there will be a huge variety of brand new intermediate to professional level instruments to test out! If you are in the market for a new instrument, it is highly encouraged to check it out! Bring out your mouthpiece and have some fun trying out some great horns! -We will be having Jazz Rehearsal on Tuesday and Thursday of this week from 2:00-4:00pm in the band room. -Winterguard will be having their first practice on Tuesday, 11/15, from 2:15-4:30. Anyone who is interested in Winterguard should plan to attend. -Solo and Ensemble is right around the corner! All students who are planning to participate in Solo and Ensemble in February should have picked out their music by now, or should be narrowing down their options. All Solo and Ensemble music ideas are due to Mr. Wiley by Monday, November 28th. Please keep in mind that your piece must be at least a Grade 3, it must be on the Solo and Ensemble Music List, and you must have an Original copy of the piece. This is why you need to bring your music ideas to Mr. Wiley by November 28th. -Keep in mind that we will be having our Winter Concert on December 15th, and our "Festival of Lights" Christmas Parade on December 3rd.
