Good morning band family! I hope you have all had a terrific Thanksgiving break and are feeling rested and recharged to finish out this semester! It’s been awesome so far, and I can’t wait to finish strong!
There will be lots of news in this post, so please take your time to read everything and process accordingly as we plan for the last few weeks of 2022! - Starting this week, Winterguard will practice on Monday, and Thursday from 2:30-5:00pm. The switch to Monday is to allow all the band students to participate fully on Monday instead of having to miss half of band AND guard on Tuesdays. This schedule will continue through the remainder of winter guard season next semester. - Wind ensemble will practice this Tuesday from 2:00-4:00pm. Jazz band will meet after from 4:15-5:30pm! - Pit orchestra for anything goes will practice on Tuesday from 6-8pm! - I will be out of school on Thursday and Friday taking our two PSLHS representatives up to FSU for the Tri Stare Band Festival! There will be no practices after school on Thursday, with the exception of winter guard with Mrs. LeBlanc. - We will be marching in the Festival of Lights Parade next Saturday December 3rd! Call time will be 4:30pm in front of Bealls Outlet at the event center. The parade begins at 6pm, and will conclude by 7pm. A detailed post specifically about the parade will be published Monday morning. All students will be required to participate for a grade. - We are beginning out Gift Wrap Booth season very soon!! This is an amazing fundraiser for the band and is a ton of fun! The first thing we need to do is actually set up the booth! We will be doing this tomorrow evening after the mall closes. We will meet at school at 6pm first to load all of the supplies into the trailer, and then go over to the mall and set up starting at 7pm! We will need about 10 people to assist and make sure this runs smoothly! There will be cookies! Please let me know if you can come! - The shifts for the gift wrap booth will begin on Thursday December 1st!! I will be sending out the sign up document tomorrow so you all be begin selecting your shifts! Each student should plan on working at least two shifts. Volunteer hours will be awarded for all shifts worked for students! - In order for the Booth to continue to be a success, we NEED strong parental support! Luckily, we have amazing parents at pslhs. Each shift with students needs at least one parent there. Parents, take a moment and fill out this survey to let us know how you plan on helping us out! https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=T03JsunXB0ejlSFUSSO_MOHRcQJb_FdClzaLVjRLvIhUOEE3TkNaVFQzMkpFMzVRUkdMSlcxRUJUSC4u - Lastly, our winter concert is coming up soon on December 15th at 7pm! Tickets will be available on ticketspicket.com this week! Tickets will be $7! Also, we will be setting up at concert bake sale, and we are looking for volunteers who would like to help bake goodies to sell at the concert! Let us know by filling out the survey below! https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=T03JsunXB0ejlSFUSSO_MOHRcQJb_FdClzaLVjRLvIhURElCWkFVQjMyRFU4WDhNOFZWUk5TQ0I0TC4u
